You Get. We Give.

Every purchase you get, we give to a person in need.

Dr. Rob and Ami Douk led a team of 27 high school students to Thailand in the summer of 2005. Together they volunteered at several orphanages and realized the lack of education that was in place for the children. They also volunteered at a fish farm that summer that was designed to create jobs for survivors of the human trafficking industry.  Since then, they have taken subsequent trips to other countries facing similar hardships.

Their desire to help improve the conditions in such places around the world have led them to create Hope Out Loud, a non profit foundation that brings social entrepreneurs together to create products that gives back to the communities. This gave birth to the You Get. We Give. concept where every purchase you get, we give to a person in need.

Health Initiative

Every health product you get, we give a health and sanitation package to a person in need.

According to the latest estimates of the WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Program for Water Supply and Sanitation (JMP) released in early 2013, 36 percent of the world’s population – 2.5 billion people – lack improved sanitation facilities. Inadequate sanitation and hygiene have many other serious repercussions. Poorly designed irrigation and water systems, scarce housing, poor waste disposal and water storage, deforestation and loss of biodiversity, all may be contributing factors to the most common vector-borne diseases, including malaria, dengue and leishmaniasis. Poverty-stricken farmers and wage earners are less productive due to illness. Consequently, health systems are overwhelmed and national economies suffer. Therefore, the foundation is dedicated to work with local communities to improve the quality of life and opportunities of such individuals.

H2O Initiative

Every H2O product you get, we contribute to building water wells for a village in desperate need of clean water to sustain health, income, and education.

Give water and help rescue some of the 440 million school days lost every year to water-related sickness. Join us in putting an end to the nearly 1 in 5 death under the age of five that occur due to dirty water.

Our foundation is partnering with several leading water organizations to bring clean water to more than 6 countries all over the world. By purchasing one of our H2O items, you can help fund long-lasting water projects that serve villages and schools.

Wells, dams and rain catchment systems can provide a reliable source of drinking water. Sanitation facilities and hygiene training then help multiply the impact. Communities become far better able to grow themselves out of poverty.

Hope Initiative

Every handcrafted item you get, gives job creation to a survivor of human trafficking.

Trafficking women and children for sexual exploitation is the fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world, despite the fact that international law and the laws of 134 countries criminalize sex trafficking.

At least 20.9 million adults and children are bought and sold worldwide into commercial sexual servitude, forced labor and bonded labor. About 2 million children are exploited every year in the global commercial sex trade. Almost 6 in 10 identified trafficking survivors were trafficked for sexual exploitation. Women and girls make up 98% of victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation.

A holistic and comprehensive strategy is needed to combat sex trafficking effectively. One need our foundation aims to meet is job creation for survivors of human trafficking as a way for them to acquire new skills to sustain themselves.
